Welcome to Bousher Dunes
Oman Coastal and Desert Expedition

Day 1
At 0800 hrs, our 4WD vehicles rev up for an unforgettable journey—from the capital to the heart of Oman’s natural wonders.
Quriyat: Seaside Charms
Our first stop: Quriyat, a fishing town where azure waters meet pristine white beaches.
Explore the town, then visit the 400-year-old Quriyat Fort and the bustling Fish Souk. Witness the vibrant fish market—local delicacies traded for both consumption and export.
As we drive along the waterfront, keep an eye out for flamingoes and eagles.
Wadi Arbaieen: Rocky Oasis
Adventure awaits as we wind through spectacular mountains to reach Wadi Arbaieen. Its rocky face is adorned with date trees, lakes, waterfalls, and deep pools.
Next, we head to the Bimah Sinkhole (Bait al-Afreet). Picture a giant limestone crater with crystal-clear blue-green water—a geological marvel.
Qalhat and Ocean Views
A quick diversion leads us to a hilltop overlooking palm trees—the site of ancient Qalhat. Explore Bibi Miriam’s Tomb, a survivor of time’s ravages.
Continuing through winding mountain roads, we glimpse breathtaking ocean vistas.
Wahiba Sands: Desert Symphony
After a set menu lunch at Sur Beach Hotel, we venture into the vast Wahiba Sands (Al Sharqiya Sands).
Undulating red and white dunes rise up to 200m, shaped by relentless winds. Sparse flora and fauna hint at survival in these harsh conditions.
As the sun sets, we retreat to Bedouin tents Nights Camp—a desert dream.
Duration: An unforgettable day of contrasts—coastal beauty and desert grandeur. 🌊🏜️
Day 2
Wake up to the view of shifting sands at the campsite and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Wahiba Sands is home to the Bedouin tribe known for their hospitality and deep knowledge of the desert. Today, only a few Bedouin houses remain in this wilderness. We will visit one such family to learn about their traditional way of life.
Next, we visit Wadi Bani Khalid, also known as Wadi Hayer or Wadi Hawer. This desert oasis is nestled amidst date palm trees and surrounded by imposing rock formations and pools. The wadi spans across several villages in these rocky hills, featuring crystal-clear pools and even a waterfall. Local houses dot the mountainside, and some areas include networks of tiny caves, which are best explored with a guide.

Light, comfortable clothing and walking shoes are recommended for this excursion. Enjoy a set menu lunch at Al Sharqiyah Sands Hotel before returning to Muscat.
